Competition Type: Individual, A Mix of Table Tennis & History Questionstable-tennis-club-1

Table Combined is an event unique to the Olympiad. It is a combination of table tennis and history quiz questions (played on a separate table, using a buzzer system and a written sheet). Players start off playing ten table tennis points (each person serves five), then play five tossups. Then they play five more points of table tennis before playing five bonus style questions (they write the answers down; both players, one, or neither may score on those) before finishing the game to 15 (win by 2) playing more table tennis. The tournament format is single elimination within one’s division. In 2018, Table Combined matches will be played at set times in the morning and evening at the Berlin-Wannsee Youth Hostel, which, conveniently, has table tennis tables already in place.
