When: Day 2, Monday, 20 July, 6:30-8:30 pm during dinner and
Day 4, Wednesday, 22 July, 6:00-8:30 pm during dinner
Open to all participants, including family members
All participants (including staff and family members) are encouraged to read the two official 2020 International History Olympiad Book Club selections: When I was Puerto Rican, an autobiography by Esmerelda Santiago, and Omeros, by the Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Derek Walcott of Saint Lucia. There are two specific times in the schedule (namely 6:00pm-8:30pm on July 20 for When I was Puerto Rican and 6:00pm-8:30pm on July 22 for Omeros) when we will have specific discussion groups meet to discuss these books, but participants are certainly welcome and encouraged to discuss these works at other times as well. Both selections can be found on Amazon or other online book sellers, or occasionally at booksellers around the world.
