The colors soared high

In so many hues

Soaked in hopes

Of rising stars

Here, to chase a Blitz of clues

and honor history,

the birth of man

To win the gold

or snag a bronze

Arriving from near, and afar

From the seat of Mesopotamia, Iraq

to nearby Princeton

draped in ivy, topped with laurels

that once a Madden inherited

And carries on today

With pride and honor

to chisel a path

determined

for our children

our beloved kin

For there’s no better teacher

than the story of our past

Our own story, our history

Sung everyday, and with a blast

Here at the International History Olympiad
